Description
Pre-owned, lovely condition, 1973 Rolex GMT-Master – Reference 1675.
Sold as watch only, with accompanying Rolex Service Card (June 2019).
First launched in 1955 and originally designed for professional use by airline pilots, the GMT-Master became a huge hit with travellers. Showing two time zones simultaneously was of great benefit to those travelling across continents and time zones. GMT, of course, stands for Greenwich Mean Time, which marks solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London – the original meridian used for calculating longitude and determining different time zones around the world.
This Vintage 1973 Rolex GMT-Master 1675 is in fantastic condition for its age, and has recently had a full service from Rolex. The case is in superb conditon and has definitely not been over-polished (there is lots of metal on the lugs, and nothing is out of shape). The dial and hands are in great conditon too and are showing some lovely patina. The jubilee bracelet is very clean and is, of course, a bit loose – as you would expect with a watch of this age.
